SoL Sunflower Beverage on Happy Fit Mama
SoL Sunflower Beverage
I tried something new this weekend: SoL Sunflower Beverage. SoL is made from actual sunflower kernels. Who knew you could get a drink from sunflower kernels? It’s a shelf-stable non-dairy beverage. The kind people at SoL offered to send me a free sample and I accepted.
I first tried SoL Sunflower Beverage in a smoothie.
It added a nice creaminess to the mix of spinach, strawberries and banana. I could taste a slight sunflower taste, too.
I also put it in my iced coffee. It provided the right about of cream and sweetness without being overpowering. Ron tried it in his hot coffee. He usually uses half and half but really liked the added flavor.
Here’s the nutrition stats for 1 serving (8 oz):
- 70 calories
- 4 g total fat
- 0.5 g saturated fat
- 1 g fiber
- 7 g sugar
- 1 g protein
- 50% of RDA of Vitamin E
- 20% of RDA of Folic Acid
I was skeptical at first but I’m a fan! I’m going to look for it in the grocery store the next time I go shopping. I love my Almond Milk but this would be a great alternative. Check out Sunrich Naturals site for more information.
