I recently downloaded the Lyris Inc. white paper, “Email Goes Mobile: The email marketer’s definitive guide to mobile marketing,” offered free from Mobile Marketer. The topics that I found most interesting in the paper were “integrating mobile marketing into other campaigns” and “best practices for mobile marketing.” According to the paper, “Mobile gives your company an opportunity to gather valuable demographic and psychographic information about your target audience that can be leveraged across other media to create enhanced relevance.” Here are some examples of how this can be done:

Journalists Say Bloggers are “Important Opinion-Shapers”

The results of Middleberg Communication’s second annual “Media in the Wired World” survey of 341 journalists indicated that the majority of journalists find social media is changing the profession of journalism in a positive manner. Jen McClure, founder and president of the Society for New Communications Research stated “This study indicates that there is now a large and growing percentage of journalists who view social media and the participation by the public in the journalistic process to be a necessary, and in most cases, positive step in the evolution of journalism.”

We love Vertical IT Solutions for many reasons, but one of them is sentimental:  they were Michelle’s very first client when she ventured out as an entrepreneur in 2005.  They were on fire back then as a 2 year old startup.  Now, however, they’re in a new location, have almost four times the number of employees they did back then, and are Central Florida’s leading provider of outsourced information technology services.  Teaming up with the talented folks at Schifino Lee in Tampa, Andrew Cohen and his team have just unveiled their new brand and web site. Top Buzzwords of 2010

Writer for AdvertisingAge, Pete Blackshaw, created a list of the top 20 buzzwords to pay attention to and get familiar with for the rest of the year. Although all of his picks are fun and entertaining, I choose my top 8 favorite to share with you:

SPURNED MEDIA: “media that goes horribly negative, invades otherwise pristine search results or bleeds into traditional media. Bad customer service is a top driver of ‘spurned media.’”

WIKI WART: when a bad piece of news or campaign (traditional communications, social media, etc) goes awry and leaves a negative mark on the company’s Wikipedia description forever.PR pros often give false hope to brands of removing the warts, but relentless Wikipedia editors put them right back. “
